What to Expect

Hunting Australian water buffalo is an experience unlike any other. Our hunts take place in the remote Northern Territory, where thick scrub, wetlands and open floodplain country provide the perfect environment for wild buffalo.

From the moment you arrive at camp, the focus is on giving you an authentic Australian buffalo hunting experience. This is not a hunt where you simply sit and wait for an animal to walk past. We spend the days actively hunting, glassing country, tracking buffalo and working our way into range.

Buffalo can be found in a variety of country, and every day can be different. You may spend the morning working through thick paperbark and pandanus, glassing open flats, or following fresh tracks through the scrub. Getting close to a mature bull can be challenging, especially when the country is thick, but that's what makes taking a good bull so rewarding.

The Hunt

Our hunts are conducted on a fair-chase basis, with experienced guides who know the country and understand buffalo behaviour.

A typical hunting day starts early, making the most of the cooler conditions and the time when buffalo are most active. We will spend the day moving through suitable country, glassing, tracking and looking for an opportunity to get within a comfortable shooting range.

Once a suitable bull is located, the guide will work with you to plan the approach and get you into position for a clean, ethical shot.

There is no guarantee of a particular size of bull, but our goal is always to give you the opportunity to take a quality animal and have an enjoyable hunt along the way.

More Than Just Buffalo

When we're not hunting buffalo, there is plenty to experience around camp. Depending on conditions and the time available, hunters can also enjoy wild pig hunting and barramundi fishing.

The bush camp is set up to make the week comfortable while still giving you that genuine outback hunting experience. You'll have a full-time camp cook preparing meals throughout the hunt, comfortable accommodation, hot showers and the facilities you need to relax after a long day in the bush.

The Experience

For us, a buffalo hunt isn't just about pulling the trigger. It's about the whole experience — travelling into remote country, spending time around the camp, seeing Australian wildlife, getting close to buffalo and sharing a few stories around camp at the end of the day.
